What is Subutex?
Subutex is an opioid medication. This medicine oral/sublingual (given under the tongue) is used to treat opioid addiction. Other forms of buprenorphine are used to treat moderate to severe pain. Subutex sublingual is not for use as a pain medication. Subutex sublingual may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Side effects of Subutex
Headache, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, constipation, warmth or tingly feeling, chills, increased sweating.
Important Information
Subutex sublingual tablets are not for use as a pain medication. MISUSE OF OPIOID MEDICINE CAN CAUSE ADDICTION, OVERDOSE, OR DEATH. Keep the medication in a place where others cannot get to it. Taking opioid medicine during pregnancy may cause life-threatening withdrawal symptoms in the newborn.
